Dear İsmail,
Greetings from Milan, Italy!
This week, Food Tank is participating in the Seeds&Chips Global Food Innovation Summit, where I will speak about topics ranging from the innovative power of women, to opportunities in the foodtech sector and potential for sustainable development across Africa. I’m honored to share the stage with guests like HRH Princess Viktória fde Bourbon de Parme; Rajiv Shah, President of The Rockefeller Foundation; Thomas King, founder and CEO of Food Frontier; and other innovators, inventors, advocates, and story-tellers.
Thank you to Marco Gualtieri, founder and Chairman of Seeds&Chips, and Sharon Cittone, Chief Content Officer, for reconvening these inspiring speakers and attendees collaborating on solutions for feeding the future.
Food Tank is excited to judge the Sustainable Snacking Pitch Competition, alongside co-hosts the SnackFutures hub and Seeds&Chips, on May 6. We’ll hear from entrepreneurs and innovators changing the ways we eat, package, waste, and source food. The competition winners will work with Mondelēz International’s innovation acceleration workshops to get their ideas fully off the ground, doing their part to create a more sustainable food system.
And on May 7, we’re co-hosting an evening panel event with Mondelēz International and Seeds&Chips at the innovative restaurant Carlo e Camilla, in Segheria which is reintegrating conviviality into dining out. While we enjoy amazing "snacks" designed by chefs Carlo Cracco and Luca Pedata, I’ll chat on stage with Brigette Wolf, Head of SnackFutures to explore how snacking can impact health and sustainability in the food system. Then, I’ll moderate a panel featuring Danielle Gould, founder of Food + Tech Connect and co-CEO of Alpha Food Labs, and Pashon Murray, founder of Detroit Dirt, to talk about the role companies play in food and sustainability. If you’d like to attend this incredible event, email bernard@foodtank.com.
On the Seeds&Chips stage, at Carlo e Camilla, and even behind the scenes, this week will be an incredible opportunity for food entrepreneurs, innovators, policymakers, activists, and story-tellers. Thank you again to Seeds&Chips for bringing these minds together in Milan to press for a sustainable food future!
Sincerely,
Danielle Nierenberg
