Turkey Chambers of Agriculture Union (TZOB) Chairman Şemsi Bayraktar said, "Turkish farmers feed 82 million, the country's population, more than 5 million asylum seekers, refugees and foreigners and also 45-50 million tourists, noting that work day and night."

 "Agriculture means food security. We have to support our farmers to ensure our food security" he added.

Şemsi Bayraktar also reminded, "14 May World Farmers' Day because of the decision, International Federation of Agricultural Producers (IFAP) adopted since 1984, every year around the world. Therefore on the occasion of World Farmers' Day, we have been celebrating this date with a variety of activities."

Citing that the agricultural sector and farmers come to the agenda with the celebration of this day, Bayraktar emphasized that: "Actually we should appreciate the value of our farmers throughout the year."
